This World Water Day, a global reckoning with water's hidden inequality, and how ADRA's work in the Democratic Republic of Congo is already writing the next chapter.

Every year on March 22, the world pauses to reckon with a resource most Americans take entirely for granted: clean water. Turn on a tap. Fill a glass. The water is simply there. But for more than two billion people on this planet, water is not a convenience. It is a daily crisis, and the weight of that crisis falls almost entirely on women and girls.

Adventist HealthCare is proud to announce a new Pharmacy Technician Training Program – a triple-win initiative that helps alleviate a national shortage of pharmacy techs, empowers professional development and builds a strong pipeline of candidates to meet the needs of Adventist HealthCare patients and providers.

The six-week program is designed to hire and train retail pharmacy technicians to expand their skills in order to work with a broader range of medicines, compound sterile and IV medications, assist with medical history documentation, participate in clinical rounds, and collaborate with the healthcare team. The pharmacy techs are then positioned to strengthen patient care and also help optimize health outcomes after patients return to their homes.

The Washington Adventist University Board of Trustees voted overwhelmingly to move forward with Vision 2030, a bold strategic redevelopment initiative that will modernize the University’s 122-year-old campus and secure its financial sustainability for the next century.

The Board approved the Administration’s recommendation to engage Takoma Park Development Partners to begin developing a comprehensive 21st Century master plan for campus-adjacent properties, including the former Washington Adventist Hospital site.

WGTS Hosts Jerry and Summer Have fun with Micah Tyler

Story by Jerry Woods

WGTS 91.9 listeners gave from the heart again by sponsoring children in Haiti during a recent Micah Tyler concert in Virginia. For the last few years, WGTS has worked side by side with Holistic Haitian Alliance (HHA) to support the Kay Anj Village in Haiti.

For three years the station helped to raise money for HHA by rappelling off the top of a hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia, for an event called “Over the Edge.”  This year, the two organizations decided to do a benefit concert instead.
