At the beginning of the school year, staff and faculty at Richmond Academy (RA) in Virginia, adopted The Leader in Me program, which draws key components from the book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
This program teaches skills for academic success, such as critical thinking, goal setting, listening, speaking and self-directed learning.

Wayne Gretzky, the famous and retired Canadian hockey player, is credited with the quote, “You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.” A corollary to this would be, “People can’t accept an invitation that’s never given.”
All the paths to church membership include some form of Bible study. People need to meet the Jesus we find in the Scriptures and learn the things He taught. It doesn’t need to be complicated or difficult. In fact, Jesus Himself presented important and profound lessons in simple, easy-to-remember stories and illustrations.

The annual Family Fun Festival sponsored by Washington Adventist University (WAU) on its campus in Takoma Park, Md., will be held Sunday, April 9, from noon to 5 p.m. The festival is part of the University’s Alumni and Parents Weekend celebration, which will be held this year from April 6-9. The festival will be held rain or shine.

Sixteen Pathfinder Bible Experience (PBE) teams from the Columbia Union Conference will continue on to the North American Division finals in Chicago April 21-22.
Those sixteen teams from nine Pathfinder clubs placed first at the Columbia Union PBE event March 18 at Pennsylvania Conference’s Blue Mountain Academy in Hamburg, Pa.

What does high school chemistry, summer camp high ropes course, community health fairs and a new boiler for a church heating system have in common? All of them benefit from Ohio Advance.
Ohio Advance (OA), a free-will offering to specifically reach the community and bring people to the Lord, is changing its allocations this year. In December the Ohio Conference Executive Committee voted to allocate funds to outreach and evangelism, secondary education, Camp Mohaven in Danville and church buildings and equipment.
Thirty percent of OA donations will be used for outreach and evangelism programs.

The American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer has presented Kettering Adventist Health Care with the 2016 Outstanding Achievement Award for the network’s cancer services program. Award criteria were based on accreditations surveys conducted during the second half of 2016.
The award acknowledges cancer programs that achieve excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients. Kettering Health Network is one of only 42 U.S. health care facilities with accredited cancer programs to receive this national honor for surveys performed last year.

Evangelism – Support initiatives that impact our communities by revealing the love of Christ, inviting people to accept Christ as their Savior and sharing the distinct Seventh-day Adventist message of hope and wholeness
