Recently, three alumni of Pine Forge Academy (PFA): Donna Franklin (’66), Beverly Vaughn (’67) and Rocky Twyman (’66), were honored as part of La Sierra University’s (LSU) 100 outstanding graduates during its Gala Centennial Celebration.

The Pine Forge Academy (PFA) choir’s motion picture This is My Black was recently nominated for a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Award in the Outstanding Breakthrough Creative category.
The musical, featuring the PFA choir, depicts the struggle and triumph of black teenagers in today’s time. It has been featured at several film festivals throughout the United States.

The Mount Zion Miracle Station church in Wilmington, Del., recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Guest speaker Jimmie Gibson, who served as pastor from 2019–2021, presented the message. Carlos McConico, current pastor, presented a plaque to Yolanda Wise-Wesley (pictured), an elder and the lone charter member.

Members of Allegheny East Conference’s Fourth Street Friendship church in Washington, D.C., operate a soup kitchen every Sunday, and this past Christmas, which fell on a Sunday, was no exception.
An estimated 50 people experiencing homelessness attended the event to enjoy a gourmet holiday meal and free winter caps, gloves and thermal underwear to prepare for the cold months ahead.

Allegheny East Conference's New Life church in Gaithersburg, Md., recently hosted a stewardship emphasis series titled, “Money Moves.” Anthony O’Neal, financial literacy influencer and author, jumpstarted the series by delivering a message for worship service, followed by a Q & A session.
O’Neal’s message focused on how Christians should be stewards of God’s money. He shared four principles to help individuals in their journey to financial freedom: make the money, manage the money, multiply the money, and make the money matter. Following his message, attendees asked questions on topics ranging from investing to business ownership.
