Allegheny East Conference

The Allegheny East Conference (AEC) will be hosting this year’s Conscience and Justice Council (CJC) convention, themed “When the Church Comes to Town: Promoting Liberty, Pursing Justice,” Sept. 28–Oct. 1, at the North American Division headquarters in Columbia, Md.
CJC is an annual gathering comprised of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty regional conference directors, college professors and other supporters. The purpose of the conference is to highlight ways church members can get involved in social justice issues.

The Pine Forge Academy (PFA) choir’s motion picture This is My Black was recently nominated for a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Award in the Outstanding Breakthrough Creative category.
The musical, featuring the PFA choir, depicts the struggle and triumph of black teenagers in today’s time. It has been featured at several film festivals throughout the United States.

The Mount Zion Miracle Station church in Wilmington, Del., recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Guest speaker Jimmie Gibson, who served as pastor from 2019–2021, presented the message. Carlos McConico, current pastor, presented a plaque to Yolanda Wise-Wesley (pictured), an elder and the lone charter member.
